Goals and tasks of the society (excerpts from the charter):

§ 2 Purpose of the society

The society shall have the task of sustaining the remembrance of the 'euthanasia' crimes committed in Pirna-Sonnenstein during the years 1940-41 and of advocating appropriate commemoration of the victims.

In particular this purpose shall be realised by:

- creating, maintaining and caring for a memorial park and a memorial museum

- organising lectures and symposia

- publications in the press

- supporting follow-up projects

- representing the interests of the victims in public.

§ 3 Nonprofit character

The society shall pursue exclusively nonprofit goals in the sense of the section 'tax privileged purposes' of the German General Tax Code. The society shall act without self-interest; it shall not primarily pursue goals of business on its own account.

Membership dues

Membership dues shall be EUR 24.00 per year for individual members and at least EUR 25.00 per year for institutional members.

Donations

The Pirna tax office has recognised the society as a nonprofit organisation, so any donations are tax-deductible. (Receipts will be issued for donations on request.)

Information material (such as the society's charter or newsletter) can be mailed on request. The recipient will be charged only for postage.
